While Officers Respond to our Emergencies.....

The Louisville Metro Police Foundation backs them up by raising funds and creating partnerships to supply the department with equipment, programs, and initiatives that fall outsidethe operating

budget. Your police department maynot come to mind when you think about charitable giving, but there are few organizations that touch the lives of so many in Louisville Metro.

One of the best kept secrets in Louisville is the organization known as PAL or Police Activities League. The LMPD has an on-going relationship with PAL and has two

officers that work almost exclusively with the organization. PAL is a juvenile crime prevention program that relies on recreation, education, and enrichment activities to build a positive relationship between police officers, youth, and the community. The mission of Louisville PAL is to focus on inner city, at risk youth in middle schools who need positive values in their lives, a sense of achievement, increased discipline, and an improved sense of self worth. So far this year, PAL has worked with approximately 1, 080 kids. The LMPF Is committed to partnering with PAL to raise funds to help continue its mission.
