The

Hart Oct. 4th was a huge success. Over 500
people attended this year and enjoyed a prime
rib dinner, music and plenty of dancing to
the tunes of Tanita
Gaines and her band. Thanks to all of

One
of the best kept secrets in Louisville
is the organization known as PAL or
Police Activities League. The LMPD has
an on-going relationship with PAL and

officers
that work almost exclusively with the
organization. PAL is a juvenile crime
prevention program that relies on recreation,
education, and enrichment activities
to build a positive relationship between
police officers, youth, and the community. The
mission of Louisville PAL is to focus
on inner city, at risk youth in middle
schools who need positive values in
their lives, a sense of achievement,
increased discipline, and an improved
sense of self worth. So far this year,
PAL has worked with approximately 1,
080 kids. The LMPF Is committed to partnering
with PAL to raise funds to help continue
its mission. |

Enrichment Class Sponsored by LMPF |
|
|
| In
response to an alarmingly high divorce
rate among Officers, the LMPD Command
Staff asked the Foundation for ideas
to possibly help. LMPF Board-member
Pastor Bob Russell had an idea. Let's
put together a marriage enrichment program
that can help those in need. The result
was is a comprehensive program facillitated
by Southeast Christian members Ken &
Evelyn Snider.
