Implemented
three Leadership Development classes using Louisville
area leaders to train LMPD Commanding Officers.
Partnering
with Jefferson County Public School to create an awareness
campaign of the 574-LMPD anonymous tip line for students
to be called “Campus Watch”. A grant from
UPS is helping fund this initiative.
LMPF
funded the 2006 & 07 LMPD Awards Banquet. The officer
and civilian of the year each received $500 cash, plus
airline tickets and accommodations anywhere in the U.S.
In
response to an alarmingly high divorce rate among Officers,
the LMPD Command Staff asked the Foundation for ideas
to possibly help. LMPF Board-member Pastor Bob Russell
had an idea. Let's put together a marriage enrichment
program that can help those in need. The result was
is a comprehensive, 10 week program facillitated by
Southeast Christian members Ken & Evelyn Snider

Community
Partnerships: The LMPF teamed up with the Safety &
Security store to purchase 72 “Clubs”( at
cost, a $1,400 savings) to assist the LMPD Safe City
program. Also, after a rash of bank robberies, National
City Bank asked how they could help the LMPD. As a result,
they purchased a $2,600 ice machine for the S.W.A.T
team.
In
September, held the 1st Annual “Boots, Badges
& Bids” dinner, dance, and auction with over
200 people in attendance. This event netted $48,000
for the LMPF and the Louisville Metro Police Department.
